About Us

I used to purchase my soap exclusively from a vendor at my local Farmer’s Market, but after I moved to a new city I was unable to get it anymore. It was too far of a drive and they didn’t have a website I could order from. It was the only thing that worked well with my sensitive skin, so I had a choice: go full Sasquatch or figure out a different hair removal system for my legs. Yes, I would actually shave my legs using a bar of handmade soap. AND IT WORKED!!!

Being the kind of, “Fine, I’ll just do it myself” person I am, I set about learning all I could about soap making. Here’s where you picture me in an apron, goggles and gloves, moving deftly about my kitchen looking like some mad scientist. CLOSE! I didn’t wear an apron, I didn’t wear goggles, and I definitely didn’t move “deftly”. But after some trial and error, and TONS of help from the internet, I was finally able to produce a batch of soap that I could be proud of.  And I fell in love with the entire soap making process!

At first I just did it for myself, but then my sister started asking me for some of my soaps. One day she suggested that I could actually sell my soaps to other like-minded people with skin sensitivities. Or even just people that like more natural soaps that know where their skin care products are coming from. There’s a growing movement towards not only herbal and organic products, but also towards shopping at small businesses run by real people they can actually relate to on some level. Being the ADHD person I am, I dove head-first into this endeavor – and here we are!

The Gibson Girl was the personification of the feminine ideal of physical attractiveness as portrayed by the pen-and-ink illustrations of artist Charles Dana Gibson during a 20-year period that spanned the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the United States.[1] The artist saw his creation as representing the composite of “thousands of American girls”.

My sister and I had the good fortune of having Gibson as our maiden name and heard the phrase “Gibson Girl” all throughout our childhood.

Together, we came up with the idea to market the skin care products that we had been making for ourselves – why hog all of the natural goodness when we can share it with the world?

Disclaimer

Our soaps are lovingly handmade by us in small batches to ensure quality, so each bar is a little unique. We have worked hard to formulate recipes that are skin loving and free of phthalates, parabens or other harsh chemicals found in many bath and body products.

Because all of our products are handmade, the product you receive may not be exactly as shown on the website. Soap bars may not be exactly the same size and/or weight as is listed in the product details, and color may be slightly different due to environmental factors. We hope you don’t see this as a bad thing, as it makes your product unique!

Care must be taken when using our products in the bath or shower to prevent falls. Buildup of soap and/or oils can occur and may make the bath or shower surface slippery; surface should be rinsed or wiped after use to reduce this risk.

Our products are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. They are not intended in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of any disease. This notice is required by the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.

Allergy Test: We recommend you perform an allergy test for every product on a small patch of skin prior to using.  We can not guarantee pure olive oil nor pure coconut oil since all products use the same equipment.  All products are exposed to: Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Olive Oil, and Palm Oil.  We have allergies in our family and take them very seriously.  Feel free to reach out to us with any allergy questions you may have. We are 100% transparent and will provide you with answers.

Right to Refuse: We have the right to refuse any order.  We value our employees greatly and rudeness is never acceptable.
